1. Keith Abbott, "Spanish Castle," in The First Thing Coming (Minneapolis: Coffee House Press, 1987). The early sixties. A roadhouse between Tacoma and Seattle. Grudge match battle of the bands: Checkmates versus Wailers. "Losing band to have heads shaved on stage!" And the best teen sex scene ever written.
