1. & 2. Sleater-Kinney on “Weekend Edition” with Scott Simon, NPR (January 20) & Little Rope (Loma Vista).  “She has a voice that’s bigger than me,” Carrie Brownstein said of Corin Tucker—a perfect thing to say. Not bigger than mine, which the ear almost transposes what Brownstein really says back to the way you’d expect it to come out. Seeing the two on stage together over so many years, I’ve often wondered how it felt to stand next to a voice that big, that heedless of obstacles in its way, so able to draw a line and dare the world—or, in moments, any musicians around her?— to cross it.
