It's funny to read TV previews where the writer has to guess what a programme might be like. The days before preview tapes and films on demand!

Movie reviews mostly spot-on. Cagney in the 30's was awesome, represented that tightly wound energy of a fighting democratic spirit that Warner Bros. movies typified. Dark Passage w/Bogart unseen for one-third of movie as camera depicts third person, kind of meh, for me. Supporting cast great, especially Agnes Moorhead and Bruce Bennett, Cody in Treasure of the Sierra Madre. Tom D'Andrea as cabdriver has to be inspiration for Lenny in The Simpsons! Housely Stevenson as the quack doctor who makes Bogart's character look like Bogart again. Third Man one of the greatest of all time! Great ending, she just walks away without a word to Joseph Cotten. Perfect and heartbreaking, like a lot of real life. Anton Karas zither score, Carol Reed's direction and editing, sublime. Welles is underrated as an actor, when he could be reigned in a little. Harry Lime might be his greatest role. Killing children for profit is what Lime did with watered down penicillin and that is what RFK Jr. has done w/anti-vax quackiness. That whole cabinet needs to be chased down through a sewer like in the movie. Adam Schiff as Holly Martins, I'd suggest.
