Enjoyed reading this piece, but I'm wondering if something was omitted from the original in reproducing this passage: "In the meantime, the if of 'One of Us,' rising out of an album that twenty years ago [...]" The "if" looks like a possible scanning/transcription error.

It’s strange think that Jagged Little Pill was considered such a tour de force. What did I miss? It just celebrated some big anniversary. I don’t know which one. I don’t really care.

Morissette was the Canadian Content hope of her time. Best version of "You Oughta Know" is Kevin from "The Office" doing karaoke. Try Nelly Furtado for CanCon...she was around at the same time-- unpretentious and fun with a lot of energy. I like what Mike Myers did with "One of Us" in Austin Powers. Is the line from the Alanis song more convincingly sexual than "burning a hole where I lay"?
